Faith Works – It is Done

  • by

The Lord woke me up at 5am this morning with a song Speak Lord by Tamela Mann:

Verse 1

Here I am again on unsure ground,
Made a move once before
On my own, it was wrong, (I fell down).
Lord, You know how hard it wa
When you picked me up,
And I learned to be still,
And wait on Your word.

Chorus 1

Lord, please bestow on me
A word from Thee,
Lord, speak to me.
Lord, please bestow on me
A word from Thee,
Lord, won’t you please speak to me.

Like many of you I’m going through something and I need God to speak to me about what to do. I need to know what His will is for this situation.

I don’t naturally wake up early when I’ve been up late the night before and I was up late last night.  I know it was the Lord who woke me up because He wanted to speak to me this morning about my situation. I always have a couple of options as to where I start reading in the morning – Daily Devotionals, I’m reading through the entire bible so I can pick-up with that, or I can go to the Sunday school lesson.

I went to the devotional on my bible app I’d been going through called 21 Days of Powerful Breakthroughs by Kemberly Smith. The topic today is ‘Standing up to Adversities’ and the scripture is Psalms 56: 3 & 4:

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me”

The commentary talks about rejoicing in adversity and trusting God no matter how your situation looks. But the scripture that stuck out to me was Ezekiel 12:28 which she talked about further down:

“Therefore say unto them, thus saith the Lord God; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord God.”

After many prophecies about the coming punishment if the people continued in idolatry and rebelling against God the people had developed a saying about the prophets – “the vision that he sees is for many days to come and he prophecies of the times that are far off” (Ezekiel 12:27).  They heard the prophecies but said I don’t have to worry about them because they aren’t for us now.  In verse 12:28, God says no more delays, the word which I have spoken shall be done – now.

In Habakkuk 2:2-3 – The Lord tells him to write the vision and he says the vision is for a future time. He says if the vision seems slow in coming, wait patiently for it.

In the devotional Kemberly says, “You too can rejoice knowing not only will God work on your behalf, but He also promises to do it speedily.  He said on this day – it is done! There is no reason to be concerned or worried, because God is in control”

Be Blessed….It Is Done!
